Buying or Selling a home at Stirling Chase (Sterling Chase) in Scotch Plains?

Tour of Stirling Chase (Sterling Chase) in Scotch Plain

Welcome to Stirling Chase (Sterling Chase) in beautiful Scotch Plains, New Jersey. Located on the south side of Scotch Plains near the corners of Martine and Cooper Road, Stirling Chase features a horseshoe shape with no outlet, ensuring minimal traffic. The winding streets in this intimate community include Traveller Way, Fields Lane, Rambling Drive, and Morgan Way.

Most homes are situated on about a quarter acre. They include a two-car attached garage, four bedrooms, and at least two and a half baths. These homes typically have a grand entrance with a two-story foyer and an open floor plan. The first floor features a living room, dining room, eat-in kitchen, and family room. All units have wood-burning fireplaces with many resales having been converted to natural gas. Upstairs boasts four bedrooms, including the oversized master suite with many units having walk-in closets.

The homes were originally built with unfinished basements with high ceilings. Homeowners who have finished the basement greatly increased the living space in the home. Sale prices in the community over the last two years have ranged from the low 600s all the way up to the low 800s. Sale prices depend on location, how extensive the home renovations are, with finished basements and updated outdoor spaces demanding a premium.

Stirling Chase is a private community, so it does have a Homeowner’s Association fee ranging from about $90 to $110 a month, with an initial application fee of about $250. These fees include common area maintenance and snow removal, plus upkeep of the two well-cared-for tennis courts. These fabulous homes are located close to parks, dining, and transportation to NYC. School districts offer full-time kindergarten and busing.

One of the area’s highlights is one of the top-rated parks in Union County, Ponderosa Park. This park features turf fields, playground equipment, a unique rope climbing net, and in the summer, one of the most popular sprinkler parks in New Jersey.

Stirling Chase is also minutes from Scotch Plains downtown. You can have dinner or lunch in the Stage House Tavern, a portion of which was built in 1737 by John Sutton as a hotel. You can also stop in for a haircut and a shave at Urban Shave, get a unique Roman Square pizza at Massa, or cheer your favorite team in Darby Road.
